Entertainment and Software industry have always bragged about how piracy hurts the business. While everyone was criticising the piracy no one was taking any innovative steps to stop it, except perhaps taking about preventing it by the fear of legal punishments.
Whereas the need of the hour is to find ways to address the root cause of piracy itself. Most of the times it is either cost or availability that is forcing people to pirate content. Production houses in the country are requested to come up with cheap solutions and products so that a comman man is able to afford it and does not need to resort to piracy.
No one wants to steal willingly unless forced by some constraint. MoserBear has shown the way in this direction. Nobody in the last decade could have thought of buying movie DVDs for Rs.30 - Rs.40. Similar such ventures will help curb piracy.
