Naukri.com - Daylight robbery
Naukri.com 's latest offering pay-per-view though unique, supposedly based on what is the practice in the US but does not fit into the scheme of things from a recruiter's (end user) perspective in India.
What Naukri.com is suggesting is that every time a profile is accessed, the end user will be charged anything between Rs 3/- to 5/- per view per login. So far everything seems fine and acceptable..but what about the CVs in the data base that are outdated, not complete, irrelevant, inaccurate and not updated. As per the current format..you open, you pay.
Coming back to the US practice, this method works because the website offers data that is updated as on date, complete, relevant and accurate. Whereas Naukri does no such filtering, updating and clean up of data. In fact everything is done by the candidate who based on immediate need logs in and updates his profile...else it is left as in on the site...sometimes for years.
So why should Naukri charge for this data as well. In fact Naukri.com too should have an updating process and offers only data accurate as on date..only then pay per view will be acceptable. Just copying a system without implementing the finer nuances and forcing it onto its users is nothing but taking advantage of its market position.
Does this come under MRTP..???..and can a case be lodged against Naukri if it insists on this path...?? Recruiters of India... Unite
