Join hands in creating a CORRUPTION FREE INDIA. Support Shri ANNA HAZARE

As you are reading this petition, Anna Hazare, a 73 year old Gandhian, is sitting in the burning sun fasting, to create a corruption free India. He will stay like this until death, unless the Indian Govt. agrees to consider the LOKPAL BILL that could get rid of corruption from Indian Politics.

For the first time in forty three years, we have the chance to change the way politics is done. Let's join together and stand with Anna Hazare to tackle corruption and clean up Indian politics.

WHAT WILL LOKPAL BILL HAVE FOR YOU ?

1. Lokpal will have powers to initiate suo moto action or receive complaints of corruption from the general public.
2. Lokpal will be much more than an Advisory Body. It should be granted powers to initiate Prosecution against anyone found guilty.
3. Lokpal will have police powers. To say that it will be able to register FIRs.
4. Lokpal and anti corruption wing of CBI will be one Independent body.
5. The punishment should be minimum 5 years and maximum up-to life imprisonment.

Since 1968, when this bill was first introduced, greedy politicians have thwarted its passing. Now the government is pushing for a watered down Lokpal with no hope of ending fraud, vice and dishonesty -- it gives politicians overriding power to decide who will be investigated, and is a complete eyewash. Let us all raise our voices in support for a movement that will bring in transparency

This movement has also been joined by many people providing their suppport in Internet social media such as twitter and facebook. Many celebrities like Shekhar Kapur, Siddharth Narayan, Anupam Kher, Madhur Bhandarkar, Pritish Nandy, Prakash Raj, Aamir Khan showed their public support.

UPDATE (Apr 8) - On the fourth-day ofAnna Hazare's fast-unto death, an agreement has been reached between the governemnt and the social activist and former soldier.

Hazare said that he will break his fast tomorrow at 10am. Announcing his decision Hazare also said that the people of india should see this as their victory. He also said that the government has accepted each and every demand of the veteran activist on the Jan Lokpal Bill.

UPDATE (Apr 10) - Anna Hazare ended his fast and govt accepted the proposal made tentatively. Lets keep this petition open, until the Lokpal is implemented. This petition is to request the government to implement Lokpal.
