Ban mining in Aravalis

Recently mining contracts are being given for mining in Aravali hills in Faridabad and Gurgaon districts. Such relentless mining activities close of residential places result in long term problems because of rapid dip in water table, drying up of lakes and spread of desert. This has an irreversible adverse impact on human lives and nature.

The Supreme Court has also taken a tough stance saying that mining could be banned if proper proof of ecological damage is proven. The Central Empowered Committee (CEC) has said that there is total devastation of the eco-sensitive Aravali hills.

We request The Court to ban mining in this region altogether, so as to conserve whatever natural resources remain and liveable conditions remain.
