Support Anna Hajare for Jan Lokpal Bill

The crowd just needed a spark to ignite and Anna Hazare's campaign against corruption brought them together. On Thursday evening, hundreds of people from all parts of the state came out on the streets for a candlelight march to support the 72-year-old crusader's demand for Jan Lokpal Bill.

Support for Anna swelled on Thursday as teachers, lawyers, social activists, senior citizens, retired government officials, college students and social workers gathered in thousands to support the noble cause.

Similarly, hundreds were out on the streets supporting Anna-led movement in every part of country. "This is going to create history when citizens fight for an India free from corruption. We have been ignoring it so far, but we demand a Lokpal that will have the power to deal with corruption in public offices.

The movement has gathered quite a significant steam at the virtual space also. The support from the youth was visible through the local support and on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc.

One such message on the Blackberry Messenger read, "The Lokpal bill has been pending for 42 years. If you ever dreamt of living in India that is corruption free, now is the time. If you feel strongly for your country, change your status to "India against corruption and support it even if it calls for coming out on the streets, please do not hesitate."
