Narayan Murthy should shun Sri Lanka

Narayana Murthy once said to The Independent, that he has "a different world view from most businessmen...they forget they are part of society. I believe that unless we are in touch with reality and the common people, we will not be in a position to add value to society." While such ethics from people heading large corporates is expected and appreciated, but they make sense only when followed in reality.

Sri Lanka is a living example of catastrophic human tragedies and atrocities. Lack of transparency and uniformity in dealing with random cases by Sri Lankan Government doesn't speak nicely of it. The way journalists trying to bring transparency in reporting have been treated in Sri Lanka speaks a lot of the alternative motives of Sri Lankan Government. Still Narayan Murthy has agreed to act as IT advisor of the Lankan Government.

Mr. Narayan Murthy is urged to show consistency with what he preaches and what he lives upto. You are asked to not just reject the offer from the Sri Lankan Government but to urge them to be more open, transparent, uniform and lawful in their daily activities.
