"The National Do Not Call (NDNC) registry was introduced with much fanfare by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The list as of now has 12.75 million subscribers, but for some of the customers who have signed up, the nightmare has not ended. Since the provider is held responsible for violations and hence fined, it is in the best interests of the service provider to see that the promotional calls are blocked.

TRAI is requested to put some concrete measures in place for genuinely stop this harassment of common man. Initially giving ample facilities and freedom to telecommunication service providers to block bothering numbers and followed by strict actions like monetary fines on telecommunication providers will be an disincentive for them to promote or ignore such harassment of their customers.
