Though the constitution proclaims India to be a secular country, but that is hardly seen in practical life here. Nowhere in the world do we have so many castes and sub-castes and such provisions for reservations based on someone birth-caste.

We need to be more secular than this and this petition requests the government to take some of the following steps to reach that goal. We need to do away with the religion or caste based laws and policies. All personal laws like those of Hindus, Parsees and Muslims must be abolished. Disband the law boards and religion specific programs and spending like Haj or Amarnath Yatra.
