Save the Elephants of Bannerghata by Wildon

Background (Preamble):
The CZA ruling, dated November 7, 2009, found that the housing of elephants in zoos causes trauma to the animals." The ruling continues: "Elephants is a large mega-herbivore, which is fee ranging, cruising over long distances. There are very few zoos in the country, which have adequate space to permit free movement of elephants, as result of which they are kept chained for long hours, causing distress to the animal. Further, more often than not, such captive elephants in zoos hardly breed.”
The ruling continues: "There is very little scope for ex-situ to in-situ linkage in the context of zoo elephants in India"

Why save the Elephants of Bannerghata:
Bannerghatta National Park is located at a distance of 22 km south of Bangalore. This 25,000 acre zoological park was established in 1971 and is one of the major tourist destinations of Bangalore. Ten reserve forests of Anekal, Harholloi Range of the Bangalore Forest Division come under this national park.

Bannerghatta National Park provides shelter to the Mammals like elephant, gaur, leopard, jackal, fox, wild pig, sloth bear, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, common langur, bonnet macaque, porcupine and the hare.
1) We have a natural habitat Elephants in Bannerghata a wide area of 25,000 Acre of land
2) We would like to have a Elephant camp set up in Bannerghata rather than shifting the Elephants from here to another forest range
3) We have seen a successful breeding of elephants in Bannerghata National park
4) Elephants are never kept chained as per the guidelines of CZA
If Bannerghatta was our choice for rehabilitation center for Lions and Tigers rescued from Circus? Why should we move the elephants to a different habitat?
Help us save the Elephants of Bannerghata Biological Park. Please sign the below petition
