'Bharat Ratna' for Sachin Tendulkar

Bharat Ratna (Hindi: भारत रत्न, translates to 'Jewel of India' or 'Gem of India' in English) is India's highest civilian award conferred by the government of India for the highest degrees of national service. This service includes artistic, literary, and scientific achievements, as well as 'recognition of public service of the highest order'.

Who else but Sachin Tendulkar - a true Indian who when plays his top game makes every Indian proud to be an Indian - deserves the coveted award. No other Indian since Mahatma Gandhi has had a mass effect (albeit in a different area). The kind of effect a Tendulkar-performance has on the national mood is an illustration of his impact on the collective psyche. His Post-26/11 performance in Chennai brought India some relief and alleviated from the pain and trauma. It goes without saying that for over 20 years the man has been doing 'public service of the highest order' by encouraging Indians to emulate his attributes (like hard-work, strength of character, desire to excel, single-minded focus, humility to name a few) in their respective fields.

This is a humble effort to garner maximum valuable support from spirited Indians so that the numbers are there to approach the Government to recognize the Great man and his contribution to arouse national consciousness to excel.
