Recently Govt. of India has announced a change in symbol for Rupee. Going forward, in order to implement this symbol, definitely there will be a change in the Printing of Currency. Since our independence, we have been seeing Mahatma on all the Currencies. As tribute to our freedom fighters (forgotten heroes), Govt. of India or RBI should take an initiative for the change of faces on the Currency.

This initiative doesn't mean that, one should totally eliminate Mahatma's face on all the Currencies. As a respect to Mahatma, we can have him printed on the highest Currency in use (as of now its Rs.1000) and for the rest one can assign different new faces to each individual Currency starting Rs. 5 to Rs. 500.

But as an exception, Govt. should not be considering the replacement faces from the Nehru-Gandhi family, as this idea is to recollect of freedom fighters. We have a lot forgotten heroes like Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhaghat Singh, Chandra Sekhar Azad etc. Also as tribute to our poets, who have composed our National Song and National Anthem, one can consider Tagore and Chaterjee also. This change will never let us to forget the heroes who have got us freedom and at the same time it will be small tribute to our National Heroes.
